A school fundraiser is more than just two words, it is more than just a position to fill in, rather, it is a responsibility. As one, he is not only the boss or someone in a superior level but he should also be a leader.
A leader is someone who knows his organization; he knows his visions and goals for the organization and can very well articulate these to his members and as far as able to achieve them. As a school fundraiser, one should also be a leader and to be one, it is important that you have a clear state of mind especially on what you really want for your organization. This should encompass everyone; from you to the lowest rank of the organization even extending to the external environment and the beneficiaries. It is all about the character you are able to share to every individual much as well as the capability to make them all work as a team. It requires a lot of skills to be a leader, and much more, the attitude to be one.
To discuss, one important trait a good leader should possess is having the drive or passion for work. It is important that a leader is exerting effort at the highest level; being able to show to his members that to work means to work exceeding people's expectations and to demonstrate the desire to be on top. When this is evident, members will even feel energized and more persistent to work for the company. This desire influences others to take more responsibility and the desire to lead in bigger roles. Much more, it gives members the confidence to be leaders in their own departments and in their own teams. As being a leader, you are training more leaders that are good followers as well; thus being able to convince more people to believe not only in the goals of the company but as well as to believe in their own selves. Being able to create and train members to be excellent leaders creates a relationship founded with integrity and truth in words and in deeds. Also, as the leader, you should be able to educate and develop your members as an individual and as a team player. Not only that they have good interpersonal relationship skills but they should also be intelligent and well-informed of the whole company as to rules, policies and basically how to run the organization. In terms of decision making, they should also be sensible and can come up with sound and reasonable judgments and is well able to defend himself and of his ideas. As they say, you are a good and effective leader if you are also able to train and develop leaders, those who might be born leaders or even those who really have no experiences but because of your guidance were able to survive. Sometimes it is not how you really lead, but on how many believe in you and follow you because they know you are worth the risk and that you will never leave anyone behind. No matter how high your position is or how big your role is but if you have no influence to anyone, you are still no one.
